The first one lasted for more than ten thousand years until Unalaq, who’s basically the evil Avatar, ripped Raava out of Korra and destroyed her. Korra later started a new Avatar Cycle just right before the end of the Harmonic Convergence when she re-fused with Raava and defeated Unalaq. Thus, it’s a very interesting proposition for a new Avatar, who’s presumed to be from the Earth Kingdom, to take over following the death of Korra. Of course, this is all speculation. Paramount and Avatar Studios haven’t announced anything yet. In the meantime, Avatar fans can look forward to watching a live-action adaptation on the popular streaming platform, Netflix. The last we heard is that the first season will consist of eight hour-long episodes. It’s also believed that at least two video games based on The Last Airbender are in development. Finally, it appears that Nickelodeon might have known about James Cameron’s Avatar movie earlier than everyone else.
