Recently, we reported that dataminers have found an unfinished but working model of the UH-144 Falcon along with some weapons and equipment in the Halo Infinite’s files. They figured out how to spawn the Falcon and even flew it for a test flight. The same dataminers have again been searching the game’s files and found several enemy types that have been cut from the game. Unlike the Falcon which seemed unfinished, the Crusher had complete textures and animations.
— Halo Leaks | Infinite Leaks & News (@leaks_infinite) August 26, 2022 There have been some theories as to why they were cut from the game. But only the devs know the true reason why they have been excluded.
Crushers
The first enemy found in the game’s files is the Crusher, a large bipedal creature believed to be aggressive. The Crusher has a thick hide, two oversized horns, and very long arms. One model wears armor, indicating that it might have been tamed by the Banished to use them against the United Nations Space Command. Dataminers spawned the Crushers to try and fight it in a test arena. They found out just how aggressive it was as it constantly charged and took swipes with its claws. There is also an unarmored version of the Crusher. Fans believe that this creature is part of the endemic wildlife on the planet of Zeta Halo. Players would have encountered it and the rhinoceros-like beast featured in one of the trailers when moving around the planet. During the test footage, it seems that the Crushers had a very high health pool with the unarmored version surviving a rocket hit. The armored version took 12 hits from the rocket launcher before going down.
Prometheans
The Prometheans are a race of warrior-servants of the Forerunners. They were featured prominently in Halo 4 and Halo 5. There are three models of the Prometheans found by dataminers: Soldiers, Watchers, and Knights. They have complete animations and effects but do not have textures. The Soldiers would have been the most common units equipped with rifles. Watchers are flying drone-like units who provide support for the Promethean Soldiers. Knights are units with heavy armor that use large melee weapons. They have weak points that players need to shoot at in order to destroy the armor covering its body.
Future updates
There’s a chance that the cut content could make its way to the game in the future. Keep in mind that 343 is still working on adding the cooperative campaign and battle royale modes to Halo Infinite. We hope 343 finds a way to add the Crushers and Promethean factions to the game in the future. It would be interesting and refreshing to take on new enemies in one of the future updates. We are also excited to see what else lurks in the game’s files waiting to be discovered.
