All the stunning footage, screenshots and marketing babble about pushing the envelope when it comes to graphics had us worried that no mortal PC would be able to run this monster title. But we can all rest easy - the requirements are surprisingly tame for a AAA blockbuster releasing on the eve of the next generation. In fact, if you have an average gaming rig, you won’t need to upgrade anything for the title to chug along at higher settings or hit that stable 60 FPS at low-mid. The recommended specs look like a high-end gamer rig from 2018 / early 2019, and even then it’s the 70 GB of SSD real estate that we think is the most cruel part. The rest, buy and large, is quite doable, especially at 1080p. The minimum requirements can be met even on a budget, if you are looking to get a new computer specifically with Cyberpunk 2077 in mind. Just avoid pre-built! All that being said, if you want to enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 at peak settings with all the bells and whistles of ray-tracing, possibly even at 4K, your wallet will take a hit, because it’s Nvidia RTX time. Even then, you shouldn’t realistically expect stable 60fps unless you pick up something from the RTX 3000 series, and even then it can be dodgy. Hopefully we don’t have to wait until actual 2077 for affordable hardware to catch up with graphics!
