Ms. Marvel stars Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, a 16-year-old Pakistani-American student from Jersey City. Khan is an artist and gamer who loves superheroes and writes fan fiction about them. However, everything changes when she gains superhuman abilities from a magical and ancient bangle that is tied to her family’s past. The show chronicles Kamala’s journey as she comes to terms with her newfound powers and becomes a hero for her city. Earlier in the year, one of Ms. Marvel’s writers, Sana Amanat, revealed the studio intended the show to be a limited series that will set the stage for the character to feature in other ways in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Nevertheless, she expressed the hope it will be renewed for a second season. Besides, given the generally favorable review the first season received from critics and audiences; it will not be a surprise if Disney decides to produce a second season. Unfortunately, neither Disney nor Marvel has confirmed the report. As a result, fans should not get their hopes up as the report can still be debunked. Nevertheless, Amanat’s comments earlier in the year give room for hope. By the way, Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan will star in the upcoming The Marvels alongside Brie Larson’s Carole Danvers (Captain Marvel) and Teyonah Parris’s Monica Rambeau (Photon). Disney recently gave fans a sneak peek into the movie at the recent D23 Expo. Ms. Marvel’s season finale sets the stage for the upcoming movie with Kamala Khan and Carol Danvers mysteriously switching places. What’s more? The finale strongly hints that Ms. Marvel is a mutant, thereby paving the way for the entrance of mutants into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In other news, Samuel L. Jackson will reprise his role as Nick Fury in the movie. Disney will release The Marvels to theaters on July 28, 2023. However, fans who want to revisit Ms. Marvel season 1 or watch it for the first time can catch it on Disney+.
