Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is a fully voiced extended version of the original game that adds numerous things to the game, all of which aimed towards making it better than the original version Here’s everything you need to know about Disco Elysium: The Final Cut.

What’s New in Disco Elysium: The Final Cut?

Disco Elysium: The Final Cut was first announced earlier this year and will essentially upgrade one of the best games that you could play on a low-spec PC to include several new features and more. The best part about this is that the upgraded version comes free to everyone who already owns a copy of the game.

Full Voiceover and Quality of Life Improvements

One of the biggest additions to Disco Elysium with The Final Cut is that the game will now have full English voice acting. For such a text-heavy game, this is heaven-sent. At the same time, it’ll also help add to the immersion factor now that players can hear the different accents and intonations of the characters that they get a chance to interact with inside the game. ZA/UM also added several changes to make the game more playable. This includes full controller support, as well as more customization options in terms of graphics. It can now even be played in 4K at 60 FPS on the PlayStation 5.

New Quests and Characters

The Final Cut is more than just a remaster of Disco Elysium. It’ll also add new content in the form of characters and quests. The latter comes in the form of the Political Vision Quests, which are interesting side missions that are separate from the main storyline of the game. Although these quests will reportedly not have a huge effect on how the main storyline goes, they help flesh out the ideological themes explored in Disco Elysium. It also gives players a chance to explore all the inner workings behind the game’s morally ambiguous protagonist who might not be a good guy after all. The new plotlines don’t just help add to the game’s intentionally vague storytelling but also make the city come to life even more. Outside of making Disco Elysium look better, The Final Cut will also make the open-world map larger by giving players a more expensive cast of characters that they can interact with compared to the original game.

When Is The Disco Elysium: The Final Cut Release Date?

Disco Elysium was first released as a Microsoft Windows exclusive via Steam in 2019. It was later ported to Mac PCs in 2020. However, with The Final Cut, Disco Elysium will come to even more platforms. After it was released on March 30, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is now available on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, as well as Google Studio. Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is also expected to arrive on the Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch sometime in late 2021.

Is Disco Elysium Still Banned in Australia?

Unfortunately, yes. Disco Elysium remains banned in Australia. The Australian Classification Board has made selling the game illegal in Australia because of how it depicts drug use, sex, and violence, among many other things. Previously, Disco Elysium evaded the ban in Australia because it was a PC-only release. However, now that it’s going to be available on more platforms, especially the Nintendo Switch, players down under will no longer be able to get their hands on the game. But, there is a loophole. Apparently, players on the PC can still get their hands on Disco Elysium: The Final Cut via Steam.
