As per its earlier promise, EA Motive Studio dropped footage of the remake of the space horror genre-spawner. It’s safe to say that the Frostbite engine is far from outdated. What’s more important is that the remake is indeed a faithful recreation of the original trilogy. The observant Dead Space fans will spot several familiar scenes in the revamped U.S.G Ishimura that will be making their return in the current-gen exclusive title. After a brief tour through the starting areas of Dead Space, the gameplay trailer cuts to the chase, the multiple storied sections of the haunted spaceship. It’ll feel like revisiting an old place in your memories except that the U.S.G Ishimura looks exactly like how you pictured it if not better. Electronic Arts did a marvelous job at hyping long-time fans and beginners without spoiling anything. The studio even threw in the grotesque reanimated corpses of the franchise’s iconic enemies, the Necromorphs. We’re certainly hoping that EA has more than just the Slashers and Leapers in store. It’d be a shame not to see the Leviathan and Brute in all their glory. It’s clear that EA wanted to sell the game to audiences with the initial premiere of the Dead Space remake gameplay trailer. EA also dropped details of the game’s several editions along with their respective pricing:
Dead Space Standard Edition Dead Space will cost $70 for either a physical retail copy or a digital version of the Xbox Series S/X. But, you can snag yourself a 10% discount and get it for $63 if you have an active EA Play subscription, which comes free with the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. It will also sell for less on the PC via Steam and EA at $60. The same 10% discount ($54) applies to the PC for EA Play subscribers. Dead Space Digital Deluxe Edition For $10 more than the standard version, the Dead Space Digital Deluxe Edition is available and adds three exclusive suits and two unique skins. It’s available for $70 and $80 on the PC and consoles, respectively. You’ll get the same 10% discount off your purchase if you are an EA Play member or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber. Dead Space Collector’s Edition This premium boxed set will set you back $275 (no discounts and price disparity between platforms this time around) and comes with the following extras: 1 x wearable Isaac Helmet with built-in lighting 1 x CD copy of the Dead Space soundtrack 1 x 4-inch metal Marker statuette 1 x Marker enamel pin 1 x SteelBook case 1 x Lithograph print of Isaac 1 x USG Ishimura patch 4 x mini artwork posters
It definitely looks like early next year will be huge for horror fans. In addition to Dead Space on January 27, the Resident Evil 4 remake will also come out on March 24. Also, we’re waiting on the official confirmation of Silent Hill: Short Message. Finally, Shadows of Rose, a DLC for Resident Evil Village, will launch on October 28.
