Flea Bottom gets razed to the ground
Technically, HBO never officially confirmed Flea Bottom, which would have been a live-action prequel set years before the events of Game of Thrones, exploring the lives of those who lived in the slums of Kings’ Landing. Now, it’s never going to see the light of day, as per reports from The Hollywood Reporter. Flea Bottom was a prominent place in earlier Game of Thrones’ episodes. Flea Bottom is located in the capital of Westeros and featured storylines revolving around Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) and Gendry Baratheon (Joe Dempsie). While we are getting one less live-action spin-off based on the Game of Thrones, HBO did just greenlight more animated series though. The first one will reportedly be set in the Golden Empire of Yi Ti. This animated spin-off series, along with the two others, has yet to be named. TV audiences will not be familiar with Yi Ti, which is located in the continent of Essos. It is only mentioned in George R.R. Martin’s books and is referred to as one of the oldest and most advanced civilizations in the realm. It was reportedly inspired by Imperial China. However, Yi Ti might be featured in the upcoming live-action prequel series, House of the Dragon. The show will feature the appearance of Lord Corlys Velaryon, also known as the Sea Snake. The Sea Snake is well-known for sailing all across the sprawling fantasy world that Martin has created, including the southeast nation of Yi Ti. Coincidentally, Sea Snakes is also the title of one of the HBO spin-offs in development. Speaking of spin-offs, another one that is currently being developed is 10,000 Ships. This series would follow Princess Nymeria along with the remnants of the Rhoynar people in their escape towards Dorne from Essos following their defeat at the hands of the Valyrians. TV audiences and readers might be familiar with the name as she would go on to marry Mors Martell of House Martell and become a legendary queen. She is also the namesake of Arya Stark’s dire wolf. It’s worth noting that neither Sea Snakes and 10,000 Ships are guaranteed to broadcast. At the moment, only House of the Dragon is expected to air after it began active production in early 2021. The show will revolve around the rise and fall of the House Targaryen. The ten-episode series is expected to premiere in 2022 on HBO Max and HBO.
