The Enigmatic Spectre is one of the few bosses in the game that exemplifies that. You encounter the Enigmatic Spectre in Chapter 4 of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, as go and make your way to Seventh Heaven. While we did mention that the Enigmatic Spectre is not particularly difficult, it can still put up a decent fight. If you’re not careful, this boss could probably take your entire party of two out. Scroll down below to learn more about how to beat the Enigmatic Spectre in Final Fantasy 7 Remake on both Normal and Hard Modes.
Tips for Beating the Enigmatic Spectre
There are two ways to handle beating the Enigmatic Spectre: just wail on the boss mid-air or take down the other Mysterious Spectres surrounding it first, to make it easier to leave it in a Staggered state. Either way works just fine. What we do recommend though is that you use Tifa for the entire fight whenever applicable. This is one of the few bosses in Final Fantasy 7 Remake where Tifa shines the most because of her ability to build the Stagger bar of basically any enemy you encounter in the game quickly. She attacks a whole lot faster and when buffed using her Unbridled Strength ability, she also happens to deal a lot more damage than Cloud can. Make sure that you buff Tifa twice with Unbridled Strength so you can use either Omnislash or Rise and Fall whenever the Enigmatic Spectre gets staggered. If you play it right, the Enigmatic Spectre should be relatively low on HP after you leave it Staggered for the first time. Then, after this, all you need to do is to keep on repeating what you’ve already done and the boss should go down the second time you leave it Staggered. As you can see, the Enigmatic Spectre is more tricky than difficult. It can take a while to take it down if you don’t know what you’re doing. Luckily, primarily controlling Tifa is the key here. Just make sure to keep an eye out when the boss throws a black hole on the floor and rains down projectiles from above. Both of these attacks deal a lot of damage, but you can avoid them if you keep on moving.
How to Beat the Enigmatic Spectre in Hard Mode
Enigmatic Spectre gets even trickier to take down in Hard Mode as it gets a huge boost in HP. However, with a moderately leveled Tifa, taking the Enigmatic Spectre down in Hard Mode should be the same in Normal Mode. The main difference here is that you’ll want to be more particular in using Tifa’s Rise and Fall, Omnistrike, True Strike onto the enemy and you’ll really only want to take the fight mid-air to make it less complicated. If you do it successfully and in this order, you’ll increase the Staggered damage multiplier from 160% to 265%, which will allow you to deal a ton of damage. It shouldn’t take you leaving the Enigmatic Spectre in a Staggered state twice to beat it.
