Cinelinx reports that Luke Skywalker will appear in a future episode of The Book of Boba Fett along with Grogu. Although this is an unverified report, it’s worth noting that this is the same outlet that first leaked Din’s appearance in the series last year. After the last episode confirmed what Cinelinx said last year, it’s at least worth paying attention to their latest claims. Going back to The Book of Boba Fett, Din Djarin’s appearance was a welcome surprise. Fans were even more shocked when an entire episode was dedicated to catching up with what The Mandalorian lead has been up to since the events of season 2. In Chapter 5, we learned that Din’s kept himself pretty busy since. After Luke went off with Grogu, he’s worked hard to find the other Mandalorian tribe members and headed off to Tatooine. In between, Din’s collected some bounties and forged armor for Grogu. By the time that episode 5 ended, Din has agreed to help out Fett and Fennec Shand against the Pyke Syndicate. Having said that, Disney+ is risking a lot by bringing back Grogu and CGI-ing Mark Hamill to look like his younger self once again. Many already expressed their desire for more episodes like Chapter 5, which isn’t exactly a good look for the titular character. If bringing Mando was enough to overshadow Boba, you could argue that bringing in Grogu and Luke would make things a lot worse. Not to mention, both characters are expected to pop up in season 3 of The Mandalorian, so making them appear in The Book of Boba Fett could affect the narrative of the future episodes of Din’s solo adventures. Then again, Lucasfilm did hire the deep fake specialist behind an improved version of Luke Skywalker’s appearance in the season finale of The Mandalorian. So, who knows? At the end of the day, it’s best to take this report as what it is - pure speculation. The silver lining here is that The Book of Boba Fett is about to end soon. After five episodes, the Book of Boba Fett only has two more left before the first season concludes. If Din visits Grogu before helping out Boba, it might be better happening off-screen. In other Star Wars news, fans were treated to two videos of canceled Star Wars projects this month. One is of Star Wars 1313, which would have been a single-player game featuring Boba Fett. The other is Star Wars Battlefront 3, an ambitious game that was ultimately canceled back in 2008.
