The sequel, M3GAN 2.0, will bring everyone back for a follow-up (at least, those who didn’t get unalived) that will hit movie theaters on January 17, 2025. Scribe, Akela Cooper, is coming back to write the script. It isn’t clear if Gerard Johnstone will return to direct the sequel but it’s safe to assume that producers, Jason Blum and James Wan, are on board as well. Hopefully, the success of M3GAN and Chucky on Syfy will help get the ball rolling on a doll-sized murder-filled crossover.
Nearly two years is a long time to wait for M3GAN 2.0, but we probably won’t have to twiddle our thumbs for as long to see M3GAN again. Now that the M3GAN sequel is happening, the “way gorier” version might be released as soon as the film goes from the big screens to VOD on January 24. M3GAN now officially holds the record for the biggest opening weekend for a PG-13 horror film. The sequel is expected to do just as well if not better. Speaking of horror films, the progenitor of slasher flicks is coming back sooner rather than later. Fans can look forward to watching Scream 6 on March 10.
