For October 2021, Microsoft continues to disappoint with its Xbox Games with Gold lineup.
What are the Xbox Games with Gold October 2021 games?
Headlining the Xbox Games with Gold lineup for October 2021 are Castlevania: Harmony of Despair and Resident Evil Code: Veronica X. 2011’s Harmony of Despair was originally released for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 back in 2011. It’s not the most well-reviewed Castlevania game out there, but it’s not all bad. It’s also one of the few co-op multiplayer Castlevania games that Konami has released. Meanwhile, Code: Veronica X was released back in 2011, although it was technically available before then albeit in a limited capacity. Both are perfect for the Halloween-themed month, although you can’t help but wonder if Microsoft simply wasn’t bothered to pony up more to secure more recent titles. Speaking of recent titles, the Xbox One games included in the Xbox Games with Gold lineup this October 2021 are Aaero and Hover, both of which were launched in 2017. The former is a rhythm and action rail shooter while the latter is an open-world parkour game. Although both aren’t exactly popular, they’re not half-bad, which is a phrase that we’ve commonly used to describe the Xbox Games with Gold offerings in the past. With that said, you can’t exactly complain too much when these titles are free. If it’s any consolation, last month’s offerings were a bit better, and you can still download three of the Xbox Games with Gold games for September 2021. Warhammer Chaosbane and Samurai Shodown 2 are available until September 30, while you have October 15 to download Mulaka. In other news, Square Enix also revealed that Marvel’s Avengers is coming to the Xbox Game Pass on September 30. Considering the quality of all the games headed straight to the Xbox Game Pass library going forward, subscribing to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is a surefire way to get your money’s worth.
