Most people know of Judge and Daniels as the brains behind King of the Hill. However, the duo has concocted other border-line genius shows since and before as well. Case in point, Silicon Valley, Parks and Recreation, as well as Beavis and Butt-Head (only Judge). But, as much pedigree these two might bring to the table, this is arguably the first animated series that the two will work on that will feature two female leads. Byer and Lapkus are Netflix alums with multiple appearances in Netflix’s slate of original films and shows under their belt. Byer, in particular, has been nominated twice at the Emmy awards for her work on Nailed It!. Meanwhile, Lapkus played a key role for several seasons in the streaming platform’s hit show, Orange is the New Black, as well as The Wrong Missy, among others. In Bad Crimes, Byer and Lapkus will voice Kara and Jennie, respectively, FBI agents who travel across the United States solving crimes while trying to live a normal life. So far, Netflix has only ordered 10 episodes, but if Bad Crimes ends up becoming a hit, who knows? Judge and Daniels will likely want Bad Crimes to deliver the numbers it will deserve as the debut series from the duo’s new production company, Bandera Entertainment Company. In addition to Judge and Daniels, Bad Crimes will see Full Frontal with Samantha Bee’s Nicole Silverberg as an executive producer alongside Erica Hayes. Unfortunately, Netflix did not announce an official release date for Bad Crimes. Since the streaming platform only just ordered Bad Crimes, don’t expect to see it hit the library soon. Most likely, Bad Crimes won’t arrive on Netflix until late 2022, but we’re learning more towards an early 2023 premiere. In other Netflix news, the world’s biggest streamer just confirmed that it plans on producing back-to-back Red Notice sequels. The Cuphead Show! also recently got its first trailer ahead of an February 18 launch. Unfortunately, it appears that Netflix’s commitment towards providing quality content literally comes at a cost, with subscription prices going up in the United States.
