Now, less than a month to the series’ launch, the platform has released the show’s official trailer. The season’s synopsis reads, “Starting anew in London, Joe vows to bury the past and be his best self. But on the rocky road to redemption, a new obsession starts to take hold.” The almost three-minute-long trailer shows Goldberg living in London. The series’ lead character has taken on a new name, Jonathan Moore, and is now a professor at an unnamed English university. Goldberg attempts to rebuild his life far from the distractions of his past. He joins a clique of elite and runs into his love interest, Marienne, from season 3. The new trailer reveals a killer is targeting the London elite, including members of Goldberg’s social circle. Goldberg launches an investigation into the killer, tagged the Eat the Rich killer by the media, and seemingly deduces who it might be. Amidst this, he has to contend with a stalker who might be after his life. You is a psychological thriller television series that is based on the book series of the same name by Caroline Kepnes. It was developed for Lifetime by Sera Gamble, who also serves as showrunner, and Greg Berlanti of Berlanti Productions. Following the first season’s success, Lifetime renewed the show for another season. However, Netflix acquired the rights to the show before it premiered, and it has since been with the platform. Apart from Penn Badgley who plays Goldberg/Moore, the forthcoming season will feature Tati Gabrielle, Lukas Gage, Charlotte Ritchie, Tilly Keeper, Amy-Leigh Hickman, and Ed Speleers as Marienne Bellamy, Adam, Kate, Lady Phoebe, Nadia, and Rhys respectively. You season 4 promises as much excitement and trouble as the previous three seasons. In fact, some may argue that Goldberg’s new position as the stalked, instead of the stalker, gives the show an unexpected twist that may make it one of the best seasons of the series. The first and second parts of You season 4 will premiere on Netflix on February 9 and March 9, 2023, respectively.
