Cage to star in The Wold Way and Butcher’s Crossing
According to Deadline, the award-winning actor is going to play the role of Colton Briggs in The Old Way. Apparently the former gunslinger-turned-general store manager, Briggs, has given up his old ways to spend time with his family. Unfortunately, it appears that the bad guys just can’t leave him alone. From out of nowhere, a band of outlaws decides to murder his wife in cold blood. It is now up to Cage’s character to exact revenge and hunt down the dastardly villains responsible for his wife’s demise. What’s interesting in The Old Way is that Briggs isn’t alone in his vengeful crusade. He’ll be aided by his 12-year-old daughter, evoking some serious Kick-Ass vibes when he starred as Big Daddy alongside Chloe Grace Moretz’s Baby Doll. According to the same report, Cage is going all-in on his new genre foray and doing two Western films back-to-back in Montana. In addition to The Old Way, Cage is also going to star in Butcher’s Crossing. The upcoming movie adaptation based on the John Williams novel of the same name tells the tale of a Harvard dropout who ventures Westward in the late 1800s. At the moment there is no release date available for either The Old Way or Butcher’s Crossing.
