Two direct sequels of the game were released: Plants vs. Zombies 2 in 2013 and Plants vs. Zombies 3 in 2020 in a “soft-launch” state in select territories. What Is Plants vs. Zombies Battle for Neighborville?
Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is actually the third game of the third-person shooter spin-off of Plants vs. Zombies. The first two were the Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare titles. They were well received for their great gameplay and for successfully translating the charm of tower defense games’ characters into a third-person team shooter. Game modes include a team deathmatch and the Battlefield-inspired Turf Takeover which has similar objective-based gameplay with Battlefield’s Rush modes. Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville retains the core gameplay of the two Garden Warfare games and significantly expanded the roster, gameplay, and game modes. It was released on October 18, 2019, on PC, the PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The PC version lacks the split-screen local multiplayer feature.

EA confirmed that the Switch version of the game is the Complete Edition which will have split-screen local multiplayer in all modes, offline play, motion controls, and all the content that was launched post-release on other platforms including every cosmetic added into the game.
