With the launch trailer for Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, Sony is showcasing all the improvements that PS5 owners can expect from the remastered versions of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. In addition to the gameplay footage, the trailer also blends in a handful of in-game cinematics with improved graphics. Unfortunately, the launch trailer is chock full of spoilers. It appears that Sony didn’t bother masking certain parts of the games in favor of including thrilling set-pieces from both titles. If you already own Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End or Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, you can pay $10 to upgrade to the PS5 version of the game. But, if you’re a first-time buyer or player, we’d like to warn you that the Legacy of Thieves Collection doesn’t come with Uncharted 4’s multiplayer gameplay. You’ll have to purchase Uncharted 4 separately if you want to play multiplayer. For your trouble, the PS5 upgrades to the latest Uncharted games make the already gorgeous titles look even more amazing. Using the Fidelity Mode on the PS5, you can run either Uncharted 4 or The Lost Legacy at native 4K at 30 frames per second. Meanwhile, Performance Mode will lock the FPS to 60 while upscaling the image quality from a 1440p base resolution. There’s also the Performance+ Mode that lets you play at 120fps at the expense of playing at a lower resolution of 1080p. Naturally, the Legacy of Thieves Collection will allow both titles to support 3D audio, haptic feedback, and adaptive triggers on the PS5. Sony first revealed the Legacy of Thieves Collection last September 2021. Since then, PC and PS5 gamers have been salivating at their first chance to play as Nathan Drake. Unfortunately, Sony still hasn’t confirmed when the PC version of Legacy of Thieves Collection is coming. But, if we were to hazard a guess, we’ll give it a few months. Sony will prefer to stagger the PC ports of its marquee franchises with God of War just recently making its way to the PC. In other Uncharted news, Sony confirmed back in December that anyone who purchases or upgrades to the Legacy of Thieves Collection before February 3 will get a voucher code for a ticket to watch the Tom Holland-led live-action adaptation of Uncharted in theaters when it premieres on February 18.
