Amell provided these updates when he made a guest appearance on Michael Rosenbaum’s podcast Inside of You back in September. The Canadian actor, best known for his role as Oliver Queen on the CW series Arrow, stated that they wrapped up filming the series on the first of July 2022. He revealed that the series isn’t out yet because Starz and Lionsgate are currently separating. As a result, both studios are trying to determine which assets belong to which studio. Nevertheless, he reassured fans that the season will launch in the first or second quarter of 2023. Finally, Amell also revealed a potential third season of the show is on the table as well, but there’s currently less information on that front than there would be if the Lionsgate-Starz issue wasn’t present. Amell expressed his confidence in the series, stating that it’s better than its predecessor, saying: Heels is a drama series that follows brothers Jack and Ace Spade in the small town of Duffy, Georgia as they battle each other, in and outside the ring, for control of their late father’s wrestling promotion. The series debuted on August 15, 2021, and was renewed for a new season in November of the same year. Filming for the new season began last March and, according to Amell’s testament, ended in July. Nevertheless, there’s been virtually no information from either producers or the studio on when the new season will premiere. If you’re up for more wrestling drama, Vince McMahon is already back in the WWE after his ousting last year.
