What will Momoa and Bautista’s buddy cop movie be called?
Before anything else, let’s talk context. Momoa’s response comes after Dave Bautista published a tweet back on August 19. In the said tweet, Bautista openly lobbied for a buddy cop movie with his See and Dune co-star, Jason Momoa, with Deadpool 2’s David Leitch directing the film. A few days later, Jason Momoa found himself guesting on Monday’s episode of The Late Late show where the show’s host, James Corden, asked him about the aforementioned hypothetical project. Momoa’s response will definitely make fans of both Hollywood stars happy as he confirmed that it’s going to happen. Momoa told Corden. “We love each other. We obviously met on See, we’re on Dune together, and so I said, ‘Absolutely’.” Momoa added that Bautista proposed that the two shoot the buddy cop movie in Hawaii, which he says he’s already agreed to. His exact words were, “It’s off of the races now. We’re doing it,” which is pretty much as good of confirmation as you can get. When asked by Corden just how easily the project came to be, Momoa replied by simply saying that the movie “sells itself”. The DCEU star even teased how the dynamic will go. He explained that “he’ll [Bautista] be grumpy and I’ll be charming. Boom.” He also joked that the two of them have got the demographics all covered because Momoa has hair and Bautista doesn’t. Having said that, you shouldn’t get your hopes up too high about seeing Momoa’s and Bautista’s buddy cop movie soon. Both have busy schedules for the foreseeable future. However, eager audiences will have a chance to see them in the same TV show and movie. Both have starring roles in Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of Dune that’s set to premiere on October 22. Before that, Bautista will play the role of the antagonist to Momoa in Season Two of See starting on August 27.
