As per The Last of Us fan account, a behind-the-scenes set video from the in-production live-action adaptation of HBO’s The Last of Us shows a scene involving Joel and Ellie that looks like it was ripped straight from the video games. With a rumored budget of $10 million per episode, fans have high expectations for HBO’s The Last of Us. When you take a look at the video and the earlier teaser, HBO’s The Last of Us will deliver. But, of course, it’s premature to judge a show or movie based on a video game from a few snippets. Even with the involvement of series creator, Neil Druckmann, as well as Craig Mazin, Cherbyl’s writer, HBO still hasn’t released a trailer.
— The Last of Us TV (@TheLastofUsTV) May 1, 2022 Speaking of release, production on The Last of Us should start wrapping up any day now. After filming started last summer, Pedro Pascal’s latest update suggests that everything is going well for the show that will also feature “clickers and spores”, just like the source material. Having said that, HBO might drop a trailer for The Last of Us before the year ends. If we were to hazard a guess, the cable TV giant will wait until House of the Dragon airs on August 21 before giving audiences a glimpse of The Last of Us. If that’s the case, then we’re hoping that Sony will officially reveal the long-rumored The Last of Us remake for the PS5 by then. Speaking of HBO, the studio reportedly spent $20 million per episode for House of the Dragon. This would mean that the spin-off cost the network more than the final season of Game of Thrones. While not certainly the most expensive of any show ever, $20 million per episode sets a precedent for potential future seasons of House of the Dragon while also guaranteeing that fans will have nigh unrealistic expectations for the show.
